Trilithic's Guardian System is a single, complete system of return path maintenance equipment designed to test and service the return path all the way from the subscriber to the headend. The Guardian line was launched in 1995 when Trilithic introduced the Guardian 9580 SST Reverse Path Analyzer and the 9580 SSR Reverse Test Field Unit, a measurement system optimized for distribution balancing and for locating sources of ingress.
With the introduction of the Guardian RSVP2 and Isometer in 1996, return path maintenance protection was extended to include the subscriber's cabling. Operating the 9580 SSTs under the control of IngressManagR Monitoring software provides an efficient, cost-effective means for automatically monitoring return path ingress.
