INDIANAPOLIS, IN (Thursday June 4, 2009) – Trilithic, Inc. announced today that it is among the first companies in the world to achieve the coveted and recently released International Organization for Standardization (ISO) ISO 9001:2008 certification requirements.
ISO 9001:2008 is an international quality management standard developed for companies to demonstrate their ability to provide products that meet statutory and regulatory requirements and implement a planned quality management system. The certification is only awarded to companies that can meet stringent regulations for quality management systems, which is a framework for Trilithic to control its processes and achieve objectives. By completing the certification to the ISO 9001:2008 standard, Trilithic demonstrates highly effective business processes, commitment to continuous quality improvement and a focus on customer satisfaction.

This is an extension of Trilithic’s original ISO 9001:2000 certification. The company achieved its original ISO 9001:2000 certification in July 2002, and has since maintained its certification by participating in bi-annual audits, complying with the strict requirements of quality standards. In December 2008, the ISO amended its requirements with the release of ISO 9001:2008.
The ISO 9001:2008 is the fourth edition of the standard, which was first published in 1987. Released this year, ISO 9001:2008 is a set of standardized requirements that takes a systematic approach to managing an organization's processes so that it consistently manufactures products that satisfy customer expectations.
ISO 9001:2008 certification recognizes organizations that can link business objectives with operating effectiveness. Companies that achieve ISO 9001:2008 certification must demonstrate effective implementation of documentation and records management, top management’s commitment to their customers, establishment of clear policy, good planning and implementation, good resource management, efficient process control, measurement and analysis and continual improvement.
